All community education services are provided free of charge to create awareness and understanding about epilepsy throughout our thirteen county service area.

School Alert Programs
Free programs for students and teacher inservices provide basic information on recognition, first aid, and understanding of seizures. Presentations are informative and appropriate for all ages and grade levels. Elementary students especially enjoy meeting "Brian", our "Kids on the Block" puppet who has epilepsy. Teachers are given tips for including children with seizure disorders in regular school activities and helping students understand the child with epilepsy.


Epilepsy Education for Health Professionals and
Social Service Providers
Free in-service training for professionals who work with people with seizure disorders. Information covers recognition and first aid, seizures in special populations, and the latest information on advances in epilepsy treatments. Audiences include community leaders, law enforcement officers, emergency services personnel, health care professionals, business professionals and social service providers.


Employers and Civic Groups
Offered at no cost, informative presentations are available on:
- overview of seizure disorders, including causes, seizure triggers and treatment options
- seizure recognition and first aid
- social & economic impact of epilepsy in our service area


Informative Displays
As requested, the Foundation offers public education displays about epilepsy at community health fairs and seminars. Staff and volunteers answer participant questions about seizure recognition and prevention.
