Summer would not be complete
without Camp Lakewood!
Over the past seventeen years, hundreds of campers
from all over the Southeast have enjoyed outdoor activities
and learned more about epilepsy during their special week
at a very special place - Camp Lakewood.
Established in 1986, Camp Lakewood was the 5th camp in the nation
for children with epilepsy. The Gordon Street Foundation kindly allows use of the beautiful Double G Ranch in Soddy Daisy just minutes from Chattanooga. Original funding from the Kiwanis Club and the generous support of this and other community service organizations, businesses and individuals continues to this day.
Trained counselors and nursing staff provide
individualized supervision needed for each child.
The result is a safe, encouraging environment that enhances
self-esteem, confidence and independence.
Activities include daily education about epilepsy and seizure management,
pool time and swimming lessons, arts & crafts, educational nature walks,
healthy, balanced meals provided by our chef and culinary staff, guest speakers, group games, theme days,
and the ever-popular "Dance Under the Stars" event.

Need-based camper scholarships (called camperships)
are available on a first come, first served basis.
