Meet Danielle Hunter,
our great 2001 "Winning Kid"!
Danielle represents all the children in our service area who face their epilepsy with courage and determination. To help promote epilepsy awareness, little Danielle invited the local Foundation to all three classes of her first grade last year. She spoke up during the presentation and explained about her seizures. She also read "Dotty the Dalmation" to her second grade class. Following the Spring Stroll, she was interviewed by NewsChannel 9 anchor Kim Chapman.
We thank Danielle and her family for their help and interest in epilepsy education! She is certainly a "Winning Kid" in any playbook and we're glad she's on our team!

The Epilepsy Foundation invites youngsters between five and ten who have epilepsy and who will not reach their eleventh birthday before January of the following year to apply to be a "Winning Kid".
He or she will be entered in the next national "Winning Kid" program. The child selected from affiliate entries is introduced at the National Conference.
We want to illustrate the impact of epilepsy on children's lives and to honor children's achievement. While special talents are nice, small victories by more seriously affected children are equally important. Also welcome are winning kids with more severe seizures, including children who have to wear helmets or other protection. We want our "Winning Kids" to represent the whole spectrum of epilepsy!
