On September 11 and 12, Board of Directors member Kim Chapman, Executive Director Mickey McCamish, and Education Services Director Aubree Sullivan traveled together to Boston to participate in the Epilepsy Foundation's annual National Leadership Conference.
While there, the group listened to many sessions regarding the state of the Epilepsy Foundation, research in new treatments and devices for the use of epilepsy, and how to raise money in these tough economic times.
They heard from speakers such as Christine Griffin, the Acting Vice Chair for the Equal Employment Opportunity Commision and nominee for Deputy Director for the U.S. Office of Personnel Management. Ms. Griffin spoke of the need for people with disablities to be employed.
The group comes back to Chattanooga renewed and reinvigorated for implementing ideas locally.
