On Sunday April 10, the greater Chattanooga community came together and raised $17,000 for the Epilepsy Foundation of Southeast Tennessee!
How? By eating a lot of chocolate! The restaurants and businesses that participated are as follows: 212 Market Restaurant, Blue Orchid Bistro, Chattanooga Cupcakes, The Chocolate Box, Doubletree Hotel, Fox & Hen Cafe Deli, The Hot Chocolatier, Market Street Tavern, The Melting Pot, Nola Food, Petunia's Silver Jalapeño, Southern Belle Riverboat, Sugary Creations and Sweet Angel Cakes.
From truffles, cupcakes, fondue, mousse cups, cookies, to tiramisu "tacos," there was enough chocolate to delight an army!
About 300 people came to sample the selections and bid on silent auction items from boat rentals, festival tickets, and artwork to ceramic pottery, restaurant gift certificates and spa certificates!
Judges' Choice was awarded to Market Street Tavern for their Black Forest Cupcake. People's Choice was awarded to The Doubletree Hotel for their Chocolate Tiramisu Taco. Most Creative Presentation was awarded to Sweet Angel Cakes for their creative display of a cake that included the epilepsy flame shown above.
